found a Fred Hipskind in a 1920 census who was listed as a widower. Because we have a picture of our ancestor’s
gravestone, we know this is not our relative.
I did find a Mrs. Fred Hipskind who committed suicide in 1902 because
she feared she was going insane and was afraid she would kill her newborn;
however she was only 21 years old according to the article.

have found this person in a number of sources and know the following about: She
was married to Roy Theodore Armbruster (12/10/1921-6/19/1996) on 1/31/1943 and
they had a child who was born and died on the same day (8/14/1943). Since this is only 6 ½ months after the
wedding, either the child was conceived before the wedding or it was born
prematurely. I also found a record of a
marriage in Chelan for Marvelyn H. Armbruster to a Leonard A. Hewitt on 6/21949. It seem likely that this is the same Marvelyn
(same first name and last name, wrong middle initial, same county, etc.)

Obituary – Found on Find a Grave website. Obituary was in Kokomo Tribune, Saturday 11/5/1949; listed as Mrs. Minnie Eiler of Wabash, mother of Herman Eiler of that city, about 7 weeks before she fell and broke her hip. Also surviving is another son Arnold who lives in Wabash. Her brother, Adam Miller, died on Thursday and will be buried on the same day as Minnie. Both Minnie and Adam were members of St. Peter’s Reformed and Evangelical Church in Urbana. Internment St. Peters cemetery.
