Not another project! We finally got around to putting up a privacy fence around our patio. We rented this auger which made digging the ten 3 foot holes a snap.
|
Digging the holes was the easy part. Each of the five fence sections required drilling holes for and putting in 78 screws - that's almost 400 screws.

Judy cut up some cold watermelon for the workers on this hot summer afternoon.

Caleb had his own way of keeping cool. Here he wrings out a sponge full of water on his head.

We got Caleb a battery driven truck to play with when he comes to Grandma and Grandpa's. Here he rides on our front sidewalk as Jenn follows behind.
|
Although sometimes he made it go by pushing the pedal, he had absolutely no concept of steering.

We also got Caleb this nifty fire truck, which makes all kinds of noises.
|
This vehicle was small enough for Caleb to get off and on himself, even if sometimes he got on backwards.

Caleb shows Jenn how to beep the horn.

Caleb watches the men work through the storm door.

After all that driving, Caleb was ready to relax. He stretches out as Judy and Jenn prepare to take him for a 'let's go to sleep' walk.

Jeff and Jenn check to see if the filet mignon was done. A few minutes later, we were enjoying our first meal out on our patio.

The next week Judy dug out all of the sod and put down paper and wood chips, Buff transplanted the bushes, and this is what the finished product looked like.

This is what is looks like from the back door. We can now sit on our patio and not feel like we're in a fish bowl.
