In early March I flew from Allentown to Sanford to visit my parents, who spend their winters in Daytona Beach. On our way home we stopped at Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q. |
After lunch we stopped to see Grandma Andresen, who celebrated her 89th birthday on February 8. Grandma lives at the John Knox Retirement Village in Orange City. Major leg problems keep in her bed now most of the time. |

The next day we went on a bus trip to Dixie Crossroads with 'The Renewers', a group from my parents' church. The bus was made in our home town, Elkhart, Indiana. |
This is Bethel and Owene Ford. The Fords are from Tennessee and have become very good friends of my parents. |

Bethel has always got a story, riddle, puzzle or trick to keep you entertained. Here he does a little magic for some of the folks sitting near him on the bus. |
Our meal at Dixe Crossroads, which is famous for its shrimp, turned out to be quite an adventure. Our table got a 'new' waiter who had numerous problems, not the least of which was figuring out the bills. In the end, he gave up and told everybody 'just pay me what you think you owe.' |

On Friday we went bowling. Mom and Dad let me win the first game, but the next game Dad ended up with 207, Mom had 150 and I placed a distant third with 132. |
Dad paid to use a lane for two hours. Mom stopped after three games, but Dad and I ended up bowling five. |

If you had dropped by at the start of our second game, you would have thought we knew what we were doing. Six out of seven possible strikes isn't too shabby! |
In between watching the basketball games on Saturday, I helped my Dad straighten out the blocks under the house. |

After church on Sunday we went out to eat with Bethel and Owene. Owene took this picture of me with my parents out in the church parking lot. |
This is the front of my parents' house in Pickwick Village in sunny Daytona Beach. |

I decided to use the neighbors' front lawn as a backdrop for a picture of my parents. |
On Monday, the day I came home, we drove down this rather picturesque road to get to 'Down the Hatch', where we ate breakfast. |

This restaurant is by an outlet leading to the ocean. You can always see lots of birds, and sometimes you can see dolphins. |
As always, I enjoyed my trip and being able to spend time with my Mom and Dad, who I love very much! |
