11/03 Saturday	With the help of our friend Bill Charles, we moved the rest of our belongings over from Bill's house. We were able to get the large recliner couch into the parlor only after Bill figured out how to dismantle the sections. We also found a way to get all the den and parlor furniture to fit perfectly. Although we still have some smaller things to move and much to set up, our 8 month adventure has officially come to an end!
11/02 Friday	Kenny, the electrician, put up the new porch light and completed some other minor electrical wiring. With the help of Bill Zuchowski, we moved the apartment furniture into our new house. We were able to get the large bedroom pieces in through the upstairs windows, once our son Jeff arrived to help. Now that our bed was moved, we took up permanent residence by spending the night in our new home.
11/01 Thursday	We began moving boxes from the apartment to the house.
10/31 Wednesday	Phil's crew finished all their inside painting today. John Robinson came and touched up the claw foot tub in the downstairs bathroom. Michelle and her friend Mohammed finished cleaning the inside of the house. Penny's delivered our new den furniture - we're not sure where it's all going to fit.
10/30 Tuesday	Phil's crew gave the new porch a second coat and continued doing some final inside painting. Michelle and her friend Mohammed continued cleaning the inside of the house.
10/29 Monday	Phil's crew painted the new porch, sanded and varnished the treads of the steps, and did some miscellaneous inside painting.
10/28 Sunday	Buff brought over another van load of boxes from the apartment to the house. Buff finished moving the old bricks and spread out the mulch under the big tree.>
10/27 Saturday	Phil's crew painted the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and the trim in the upstairs bathroom. Judy painted some more blue in the eating area.. Buff and Zach brought two van loads of stuff from Clinton and two van loads of boxes from the apartment to the new house. They also moved over half the pile of old bricks from under the big tree to behind the shed.
10/26 Friday	Rich Hummer installed a new garage door with an automatic opener.
10/25 Thursday	Ihling's Appliance delivered and installed our new dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer. Tim, our 'mirror man', hung our bathroom mirrors. Michelle Huntington came to clean the walls in the house.

10/23 Tuesday	Ralph Kitz finished the landscaping. Our yard now looks like a park. What a difference! Jim McCormick completed finishing all hardwood floors.
10/22 Monday	Ralph Kitz, our landscaper, replaced our existing sidewalk with brick pavers matching those on our patio and put in a connecting sidewalk. He also planted trees and shrubs.
10/21 Sunday	Judy finished painting the windows in the eating area as well as the large radiator in the kitchen. Buff moved one van load of boxes from the apartment basement to the house basement and stripped the stairway steps.
10/20 Saturday	Jim McCormick's group gave all the hardwood floors a second coat of varnish. Judy painted the windows in the eating area and scraped the window in the stairway. Buff moved two van loads of basement bookcases and boxes from Clinton to the new house.
10/19 Friday	Jim McCormick's group finished sanding upstairs and varnished all the hardwood floors.
10/18 Thursday	Jim McCormick's group restained the downstairs. (Judy didn't like the first stain). They also continued sanding the upstairs.
10/17 Wednesday	Jim McCormick's group finished sanding the first floor and continued sanding the upstairs. They also stained the downstairs. Johnny the sider tied in the vynil for the new windows in the sided part of the house.
10/16 Tuesday	Jim McCormick's crew continued sanding the first floor and began sanding the upstairs. Johnny the sider / roofer put the shingles on our new porch.
10/15 Monday	Jim McCormick stopped by late in the day and began sanding the new hardwood on the first floor.
10/14 Sunday	Buff and Judy completed sanding and painting the radiators.
10/13 Saturday	Brad completed his part of the side porch. It still needs to be shingled, caulked and painted. Buff and Judy worked on sanding and painting the radiators.
10/12 Friday	Bill Rudnick complete all plumbing, including connecting all radiators, sinks, tubs and the shower. There is a problem with the pilot light for the furnace, which keeps going out.
10/11 Thursday	Buff and Judy sanded two of the painted radiators. (Judy didn't like the spray paint and is going to paint them by hand)
10/10 Wednesday	No activity.
10/9 Tuesday	Judy hand painted the den radiator.
10/8 Monday	Buff and Bill Charles moved all of the radiators on the front porch back into the house.
10/7 Sunday	Phil and two of his helpers finished painting all the walls in rooms with hardwood floors. Judy spray painted some of the radiators. Buff painted the rest of the outside windows.
10/6 Saturday	Bradley got about half done putting up the side porch. He will finish his work next Saturday. Phil and two of his helpers continued painting the walls. Kenny the Electrician hung a couple of lights, installed an additional outlet in the TV room, and got electricity to the new porch.
10/5 Friday	Phil the painter painted the first coat on the walls in the two bedrooms.
10/4 Thursday	Phil the painter finished varnishing.
10/3 Wednesday	Phil the painter painted a second coat on the walls in the parlor and den and did some more varnishing. Judy gave four of the six downstairs radiators a first coat of paint.
10/2 Tuesday	Phil the painter painted a second coat on the walls in the dining room, living room and hall. and the first coat on the walls in the parlor and den. Phil the Spackler finished spackling the walls.

9/30 Sunday	Phil the Spackler continued spackling any walls or ceilings which needed it. Bobby the Painter continued varnishing trim and doors. Judy painted some of the wood in the eating area blue. Buff painted a second coat on the outside basement and garage windows.
9/29 Saturday	Phil the Spackler worked on the walls. Tom the Carpenter installed the last replacement windows in the laundry room. Buff painted the outside of the basement and garage windows and screen molding.
9/28 Friday	Ernie grouted the tile on the kitchen wall and installed the marble saddle on each of the upstairs bathroom door openings. Walter finished cleaning the downstairs windows. Another Phil, a spackler, worked on the walls which will be painted next week.
9/27 Thursday	Ernie put up the white tile above the kitchen sink. Walter cleaned most of the downstairs windows.
9/26 Wednesday	Phil and Bill continued staining and varnishing all the wood upstairs.
9/25 Tuesday	Phil, Bill and Bobby continued staining and varnishing all the wood.
9/24 Monday	Phil and Bill continued staining and varnishing all the wood.
9/23 Sunday	Bobby, one of Phil's workers, varnished some of the upstairs windows and doors. Judy continued staining new wood and Buff scraped all the basement and garage windows.

Bradley, our framer who began our renovation six months ago, stopped by to lay out our new side porch. Our garage door man stopped by to take measurements for our new overhead garage door. He says he should be able to install the door in about a week and a half.

9/12 Wednesday	Bill Lothian installed the new countertops in the kitchen.

9/9 Sunday	Judy stained new woodwork for about 2 hours.
9/8 Saturday	Kenny, our electrician, was at the house wiring the A/C and furnace.
9/7 Friday	No activity - Note: We are waiting for Phil, our painter, to finish up some other work. He has said that once he comes back to our house, he will stay there until he is done. After that, we just need to have the floors sanded, stained and varnished. Remaining replacement windows delivered.

8/26 Sunday	Judy continued staining and I got the basement screen windows ready for repainting and rescreening.
8/25 Saturday	Judy and I cleaned up the house. Judy did a little staining and I took out the basement screen windows to repair.

8/23 Thursday	Art Wagner and two of his guys finished hanging doors and putting up most of the trim. They also put up oak paneling in the den. Kenny the electrician continued installing lights

8/14 Tuesday	Shorty, the plumber, installed most of the plumbing fixtures (toilet, sinks, tub, etc.). Michael Large finished repairing the front porch. He also patched around the new garage windows.

8/2 Thursday	Phil's dad put down cinder block on side porch and back filled. Judy scraped a window frame. I began identifying and moving the sanded doors from the garage to their correction location.
8/1 Wednesday	Phil painted kitchen ceiling and varnished kitchen trim. Phil's dad poured side porch footings. Judy scraped a window frame.
7/31 Tuesday	New doors were delivered for the front of the house and the side of the garage. Note: we found out right before we went away that the order for the den - parlor french doors and all the replacement windows was lost, which will set us back a few weeks.
7/30 Monday	Phil finished sanding the doors and painted all the crown molding. The plumber delivered the claw foot bathtub and removed a radiator we no longer needed.
7/23/7/29 While we were cruising to Bermuda	Phil sanded the doors, varnished the kitchen wanes coating, painted the bathroom wanes coating, power-washed the front porch and the radiators, and painted a few other areas. Phil's neighbor Bill put the kitchen cabinets and oven back and put wanes coating up in the kitchen. Phil's father dug the front porch footings. McCormick's Flooring finished installing the hardwood on the first floor and added hardwood upstairs in the expanded dormer.
7/21 Saturday	Judy and Buff finished stripping most of the wood trim.
7/20 Friday	McCormick's Flooring finished installing most of the hardwood in the parlor and den.
7/19 Thursday	McCormick's Flooring finished installing hardwood in the hall, living, and dining rooms. Bill Charles and I finished moving the first floor radiators onto the porch for future cleaning and painting.
7/18 Wednesday	McCormick's Flooring began installing hardwood in the hall, living, and dining rooms. They did not get very far.
7/17 Tuesday	Ernie finished tiling and grouting the kitchen. Shed delivered.
7/16 Monday	Ernie put down most of the kitchen tile.
7/15 Sunday	Judy stripped much of the trim which had been taken down and could not be planed. I stripped the steps and associated trim.
7/14 Saturday	Judy stripped the trim on the two upstairs double windows and the trim on two doors. I stripped the baseboard molding at the top of the stairs as well as the railing and top step.
7/13 Friday	Bill and Glen put up wanes coating in the bathroom and installed the door knob on new back door.
7/12 Thursday	Bill and Glen moved center kitchen cabinets and ripped out rest of old floor. They also glued and screwed in tongue and groove plywood as a sub floor. Finally they planed off the trim which had been taken down to sheet rock upstairs. Judy and I painted the wanes coating which is going in the bathroom. Ralph Kitts came over to discuss landscaping.
7/11 Wednesday	Ernie grouted the shower and bathroom floor. Jim McCormick removed kitchen flooring left close to wall cabinets to get it ready to tile.
7/10 Tuesday	Bill put up crown molding in the living and dining room and hung new back door. Ernie tiled the shower and bathroom floor.
7/9 Monday	Bill (a neighbor of Phil the Painter) put up wanes coating and crown molding on the ceiling in the eating area and put up crown molding in the kitchen and hall. It looks great! Ernie finished putting mud in new bathroom. I stripped the baseboard molding in the hallway.
7/8 Sunday	Judy finished stripping the varnish and stain off the trim in the living and dining rooms. I finished pulling out the nails in the kitchen sub floor and finished stripping the varnish and stain from the baseboards in the living and dining rooms.
7/7 Saturday	Buff, with great help from Bill Charles, ripped up the entire kitchen floor (except up close to the cabinets). We began at 8:30 a.m. and finished at 6:00 p.m. Judy worked on stripping varnish and stain off trim in living and dining rooms.
7/5 Friday	Ernie the tile man began putting 'mud' in new bathroom floor, a prerequisite for putting down tile.
7/5 Thursday	Phil continued working on doors and staining. I began ripping up the kitchen floor (major job - floor is 1 1/4" thick with about 7 nailed & glued layers).

6/28 Thursday	Phil the Painter gave all new ceilings and closets a second coat of paint. Bill Cuba installed air conditioning unit outside. Judy began stripping the window trim in the den. I worked on identifying where stripped doors go.
6/27 Wednesday	Phil the Painter painted all the new ceilings (those that were sheet rocked and all the new or expanded closets.
6/26 Tuesday	Judy and I cleaned up the house. We also found out that the shed can't be delivered until the dumpster is moved.
6/25 Monday	Palmer Nursery removed all the tree stumps, concrete sidewalks and cistern pad. They also leveled and prepared a stone pad for the storage shed.
6/24 Sunday	Rich Luster's crew completed removing the varnish and stain from the trim in the kitchen and baby's room.

6/20 Wednesday	Michael spackled the downstairs rooms. The gas company marked out the lines for Friday's digging. I pulled out the nails in the dining room floor while Judy stained some more Wanes Coating. Judy and I pulled out the wood forms in the newly poured basement (major job).
6/19 Tuesday	The mason poured 2" plus of concrete into the basement.
6/18 Monday	The mason and plumber stopped by today to move the old furnace out of the basement so he could pour 2" of concrete tomorrow. Judy and I spent the evening working at the house. I removed the floor nails from the living room (3 hours worth) and Judy stained the Wanes Coating.

6/16 Saturday	Judy and I worked at the house for much of the day. I removed all the floor nails in the parlor and den (it took 5 hours) and I cut the Wanes Coating which Judy stained. We also tore down the paneling in the kitchen.

6/14 Thursday	McCormick's Flooring there this afternoon to rip out floors in four rooms downstairs. Judy and I spent an hour and half afterwards carrying the flooring out to the dumpster.

6/3 Sunday	My dad and I pulled out some nails out of the trim which had been removed.
6/2 Saturday	My dad and I took all of the sheet rock scraps (there was a lot) out of the house and put them into the dumpster. Judy and my mom put up air bubble wrap on the door openings on the first floor to protect.
6/1 Friday	The sheet rockers finished putting up sheet rock.
5/31 Thursday	Sheet rockers finished master bedroom and began guest bedroom. The landscapers cut down and removed all the shrubs and a couple of trees.
5/30 Wednesday	Sheet rockers completed most of the master bedroom today
5/29 Tuesday	Sheet rockers finished most of the first floor today. Judy and Valerie picked up the first set of doors which we had sent out for stripping.
5/28 Monday	Judy and I insulated above the eating area and laundry (major project). Judy and I snaked cable and phone wires up to the second floor.

5/26 Saturday	Sheet rockers began working. Put up sheet rock on downstairs ceilings. I cleaned at the house most of the day and helped the sheet rockers. Judy and I tried various methods of stripping the stain and varnish off of trim.
5/25 Friday	Michael finished up his first week at the house. He removed the trim upstairs in preparation of the sheet rocking.
5/24 Thursday	Michael framed out two closets in the laundry room and moved the closet door from the den to the baby's room.
5/23 Wednesday	Michael began his first week at the house. He widened the doorway leading from the den to the TV room.
5/22 Tuesday	Kenny the electrician did the rough wiring today.

5/20 Sunday	Judy finished stripping the vinyl flooring out of the eating area. I took off rest of the wall and ceiling tiles and pulled out nails in laundry room and eating area
5/19 Saturday	I set up our new porch swing. I pulled out the nails from all the wood that the framers had taken off. Judy began taking up the floor in the eating area

5/17 Thursday	Plumbers finished up rough plumbing today. Rich Luster came to look at wood stripping job.

5/12 Saturday	Judy and Kathy took the doors to Allentown to have them stripped. I took down the paneling and ceiling in the laundry room.

5/9 Wednesday	Bill Cuba's crew put in the air conditioning ducts throughout the house. The plumbers put in a new toilet in downstairs bath and got much of the plumbing roughed in.

5/6 Sunday	I completed the asbestos removal. I took down all the doors to be stripped. I removed a piece of tile in the bathroom for the A/C duct. Judy took down much of the paneling in the eating area.
5/5 Saturday	Zach and I moved the entire scrap pile from under the tree into the dumpster (major job). I continued removing asbestos from the basement.
5/4 Friday	Johnny the sider began siding the eating area outside wall. I began moving the scrap pile into the dumpster.
5/3 Thursday	Johnny the sider finished siding the back dormer and the ceiling on the front porch. Plumbers did some rough plumbing.
5/2 Wednesday	Johnny the sider finished siding the front dormers and began siding the back dormer.
5/1 Tuesday	Johnny the sider continued siding the front dormers. Phil the painter and his wife stopped by to look at the scope of work.
