This person was a mystery. I found a picture of her and her sisters when she was just a baby. I also found her under Iowa County Births with both of her parents. However, she does not appear in the 1930 U.S. Census. Why would she, alone, be missing. I did find her as an 8 year old living as a boarder with Theodore Thomas and his family. Then I noticed that the Thomas family was listed right below the Landon family. Could it be that they were watching Helen on the day of the census? My guess is that this is just a census fluke. If her name appeared five lines higher, it would be perfectly normal.
